To create an account, perform the following from the Exchange Server 2010 server:

  1. Open the Exchange Management Console.
  2. Expand Recipient Configuration.
  3. Right-click on the Mailbox option.
  4. Click New Mailbox.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Next again.
  7. Enter “MigrationMonster” as your new account details and select a user principal name (UPN) domain.
  8. Enter a password.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Browse to select a Mailbox database.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click New.
  13. Click Finish.

Now give permissions to the account.

  1. Open the Exchange Management Shell.
  2. Enter the command as follows (this is all one line):-

Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Add-MailboxPermission -AccessRights FullAccess -User MigratioMonster

Please note:

  • Please create a new account and do not use an existing administrative account.
  • Each time a mailbox is added you will need to run this script again.
  • Now enter the created username within admin section of the Migration Monster project setup, by clicking the manage button next to the project line then selecting edit.
