How do I create an account on Office 365 for the migration?


If possible use the global admin account setup when the tenant was created but if this is not possible please follow the procedure below:-


Use remote PowerShell and enter the following command ( a link on how to use poweshell can be found at the bottom of this procedure):-


Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited -Filter {(RecipientTypeDetails -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (Alias -ne 'Admin')} | Add-MailboxPermission -User AdministratorAccount@mydomain.com -AccessRights fullaccess -InheritanceType all


Replace AdministratorAccount@mydomain.com with the account name that you intend to create.


This will enable full access to the mailboxes as the user specified.


Now enter the following two commands within poweshell to allow the user account to impersonate the users mailboxes. You will need to replace <AdminUserName> with the admin account name you created.


Enable-OrganizationCustomization


New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role ApplicationImpersonation -User <AdminUserName>
